In year 6, children and their families have to choose a secondary school they would like to attend in year 7. Detailed information is provided by the Local Authority and a meeting is held for parents at the school to distribute this information and to answer questions that parents may wish to ask.
Most of our children transfer to local, neighbouring secondary schools. We have good relationships with these schools and work closely together to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Towards the end of year 5, in the summer term, we have information evenings when we invite local secondary schools to speak with our pupils and their parents, informing them about what the various schools offer and helping them to make the right choice.
Children at Colindale School move onto many different secondary schools in Barnet and North London including:
- Christ’s College
- Friern Barnet
- Henrietta Barnett
- London Academy
- Mill Hill High
- Oak Lodge Special School
- Queen Elizabeth’s School
- James’ Catholic High
- Mary’s C of E High
