Pupil Premium

At Colindale Primary School, we believe education is a powerful tool for achieving social justice. Our aim is for every pupil, regardless of background or challenge, to achieve excellence, love learning, and feel a strong sense of belonging in our community.

The Pupil Premium strategy is designed to help disadvantaged pupils make excellent progress and achieve highly across all subjects. It also supports other vulnerable groups, such as pupils with a social worker or young carers, ensuring that every child receives the help they need to succeed.

High-quality, inclusive teaching sits at the centre of our approach. We prioritise early reading, language development, and number fluency because these build the foundations for future learning and help close attainment gaps.

Our support follows a tiered model:

  • Excellent teaching for all, supported by evidence-based training and professional development.

  • Targeted academic support, including early intervention and ‘keep up’ sessions so that pupils can access the full curriculum.

  • Wider strategies to promote attendance, wellbeing, positive behaviour, and enrichment through activities such as music, sport, and clubs.

We hold the highest expectations for our disadvantaged pupils and work closely with their families to remove barriers to success. Every member of staff shares responsibility for ensuring equity, ambition, and achievement for all pupils at Colindale Primary School.
